Defending Champion Alcaide Heads Roobet Philippines Open Draw As Home Stars Gear Up For Manila Showdown

The draw for the 2026 Roobet Philippines Open Pool Championship is set. Defending champion David Alcaide leads the field, alongside reigning World Champion Carlo Biado, World No.1 Aloysius Yapp, Fedor Gorst and Shane Van Boening, at Gateway Mall, Quezon City, from 20–24 October.

The field features players from 23 countries, including 74 from the Philippines who will compete in front of their home crowd in a packed out colesium like arena, in a brutal single-elimination format where every match could be the last.

There is plenty at stake beyond the title. The Philippines Open is the final ranking cut-off for the 2026 Mosconi Cup and the World Pool Masters, so places will be won and lost in heart of the Philippines.

Selected First Round Matches:
David Alcaide (ESP) v Rodlin John Bautista (PHI)
Aloysius Yapp (SGP) v Raphael Dabreo (PHI)
Carlo Biado (PHI) v David Keith Dennison (USA)
Francisco Sánchez Ruiz (ESP) v Genesis Ouano (PHI)
Fedor Gorst (USA) v Vitaly Pavlukhin (ANA)
Shane Van Boening (USA) v Chris Stripple (GBR)

The full draw will be available to view at www.wntlivescores.com

Alcaide begins the defence of the title he won at the inaugural edition against home player Rodlin John Bautista, while Carlo Biado will carry the hopes of the home crowd as he chases a major title on home soil. The reigning World Champion opens against American David Keith Dennison.

The standout tie of the draw could arrive in the Last 64. Aloysius Yapp, who opens against Raphael Dabreo, is on course to meet Filipino legend Francisco “Django” Bustamante. Bustamante first faces compatriot Rodrigo Geronimo. Last year, Bustamante’s stunning win over Fedor Gorst delighted a packed Gateway Mall.

Gorst begins against Vitaly Pavlukhin. Five-time US Open champion Shane Van Boening faces Britain’s Chris Stripple, and Spain’s Francisco Sánchez Ruiz meets Genesis Ouano.

Former World Champion Thorsten Hohmann faces one of the Philippines’ brightest stars in Chezka Centeno. Johann Chua opens against American Tony Piazza.

With players from 23 countries, 74 home players and Mosconi Cup and World Pool Masters places on the line, the 2026 Roobet Philippines Open Pool Championship promises five days of high-stakes nineball at Gateway Mall.

Fans around the world will be able to watch the action on WNT TV, with fans in the Philippines can watch on ONE SPORTS. Further broadcast details will be announced soon.
