VAN BOENING SETS HIS EYES ON NEW MAJOR TITLE IN 2026 ARIZONA OPEN POOL CHAMPIONSHIP DRAW

The draw has been confirmed for the inaugural Arizona Open Pool Championship, with newly crowned Florida Open champion Shane Van Boening leading a star-studded field set to battle for glory at the Quechan Casino Resort in Yuma from 13–16 August.

Van Boening heads into the Arizona Open full of confidence after completing his Florida redemption mission in emphatic fashion, defeating Alexander Kazakis to claim his first Florida Open title and add another Matchroom major to his illustrious career.

The five-time US Open champion will now look to carry that momentum into the second stop of the World Nineball Tour’s August USA Swing, as 128 players from 38 countries compete for a share of the $125,000 prize fund, including a $25,000 first prize.

A total of 34 players from the United States will compete on home soil, with Van Boening drawn against fellow American Wayne Farnum II in the opening round.

Fresh from his Florida Open triumph, Van Boening will be looking to make it back-to-back Matchroom major titles as he takes on America’s Wayne Farnum II in his opening match.

World No.1 Aloysius Yapp will also be looking to make his mark in Yuma, with the Singaporean drawn against American Max Eberle. Yapp arrives in Arizona following his Florida Open title defence, where he was knocked out in the Last 64.

Reigning World Champion Carlo Biado is also among the headline names in action, with the Filipino star facing former US Open champion Corey Deuel.

The reigning UK Open champion Joshua Filler begins his campaign against Mexico’s Phillip Sanchez, while Greece’s Alex Kazakis — fresh from reaching the Florida Open final — faces America’s Justin Martin.

Elsewhere, former US Open champion Jayson Shaw takes on Torin Barnard, while Tyler Styer meets Britain’s Dean Shields.

Former US Open champion Johnny Archer will make his way into the Arizona Open draw against Austria’s Max Lechner, while Justin Bergman faces Finland’s Petri Makkonen.

Jesús Atencio will meet America’s Francisco Ortega, with AJ Manas drawn against Harrison Leinen.
